A trans brake is not used to slow a car down if that's what you are thinking

Yes, but how does one know what they supply? If I had to go to each one to see what they sell that would take a few lifetimes

yea... uh... there is a sponsors sales section on the forums, I have used it from time to time to check for deals other than that I don't think they have a nice organized list of "what sponsor sells what".

I just ordered this kit, how hard are the factory lines to get to when it comes to flaring them?

Flaring brake lines is simple.

ok do you actually flare the flexible line that goes to the abs module, or do you go lower and flare the hard lines?

I didn't have any flex line... cut and flared hard lines... but mine is the older style of the two.

What are you talking about flex lines? The only flex lines in a braking system are where it attaches from the body to the calipers. Thats because the calipers travel up and down with the suspension.

Master cylinders (every single one I've seen) are hard lined down to the portioning block. Then to both sides, then flex lines. From block to rear then flex lines to both sides.

There are braided lines in some of the systems actually. I believe its between the master and abs module but its been awhile since I have encountered one.

A few reasons....
1. It just takes up space under the hood and removing it makes it look cleaner.
2. Half the time it doesn't work and on a weekend cruiser there really is no need for it in my opinion.
3. Weight savings, it"s not a whole lot but it's worth something.

I will be doing this A.S.A.P. cause mine doesn't even work and i'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay of clutter.

This is good info. I too have been looking at various kits, and am leaning towards SJM kit.
I am glad to see some positive reviews here.

On my car there are some flexible lines, all four of the actual brake lines are flexible then turn into hard lines then screw to the abs block.
