If money isn't a concern, get Kooks.

"Crappy headers," is a relative term. If you compare them to $1k+ kooks, then yeah, they might be crappy. But if you compare them to some ebay ones, then they should be a higher quality.

I still think theyre pretty good for the price. Since the SS ebay ones dont exist anymore, they might take the title of best bang for the buck again.

OP, what went wrong with your pacesetters?

I have hooker long tube super comp on mine to an ory pipe to a cat back setup. In the very near future I'm going with the kooks true duel setup. Doing some custom fitting for it, so it can bolt onto my 97 Z.

Ill chime in on my pacesetter LTs and ory. I got uncoated version from ws6store almost 3 years ago. This car has been my DD through all the salt and sand of New England winters. Surface rust is getting worse, should get another couple seasons out of them.

Don't even screw with the clamps that come with the pacesetters if you go that route, spend 30 bucks and buy 3 stainless band clamps and never look back.

For the 300 bucks I paid, I think, I can deal with have some rust on my headers and replacing them ever 5 years lol, will take me 15 years to = a set of stainless by a respected company. If I went stainless Id get the obx headers off ebay and MAKE them fit lol

I have a set of pacesetters that are over 2 years old and still look new (ceramic coated)....no rust at all, even on the y pipe. No issues other than the crappy clamps/gaskets they come with that should be tossed immediately.

I have installed two sets of hookers and one set of pace setters, for the money the pacesetters are hard to beat. Fit well also, I have kooks on my 93 really nice but bang for the buck pacesetters are great.

They should include their own y-pipe. Very rarely do off-the-shelf y-pipes fit long tube headers sold by themselves anyway.

If you cant find a y-pipe that fits, its the perfect excuse to go and fab up some custom true duals

I imagined the same, as the old ap1ap2 sellers included a Y-pipe, but I checked and read the whole thing, and saw nothing about a y-pipe. I just sent them a message through ebay asking if its included just to make sure.
Ill let you guys know when i get an answer.

Here's a link for reference.

I went with stainless ebay headers just so I didnt have to deal with rust down the road. Spent maybe an hour extra on the install modifying the fitment vs replacing steel coated headers in 5 years.

Its your choice.

Besides my speed daddys I would go with kooks or something used/good cond if you can find it.

TPIS longtubes are the best fitting/easiest plug access I have seen so far, but they are 1. not stainless 2. not cheap -ceramic are nearly as much as kooks iirc 3. hard to find used.
I can get to ALL of my spark plugs without climbing under my car. That was worth me going out and finding a second set for my fiance's car. Forgot to mention, they use "standoffs" for the bolts so that the header bolts are long and the heads are away from the flanges. It makes them really easy to bolt up and to check periodically if you want to.

Same with my Jethot headers. Excellent plug access. Too bad they don't make 'em for the LT1 crowd anymore.

I thought JetHot longtubes were just coated Hookers? I've never had any, but that's what I thought I'd read. They do look to be similar to my TPIS so plug access should be good.
