The next step up would be Ultra Pro Mag XD's

That's what's my 1.7s are

Beyond that I would move to a shaft mount system. Jesel, T&D etc.

Comp Promag's were the once preferred. I switched to the Scorpion Race series 4 years ago with no issues.

Been running Scorpions (Platinum series) here for 4+ years without any issues. Granted my setup is nothing crazy. BadBlackZee on here (good friend of mine) is running them on his HR 383 build. They are holding up just fine and are ridiculously lightweight:

But like others said, can't go wrong with the Ultra Pro Mags

Has anyone ever weighed their Scorpions or the new ultra Pro Mags?

Wish I had. They felt significantly lighter than my old 3/8 stud SA Crane Gold's (narrow body). These are standard SBC rockers though so they are pretty big, but still felt lighter than my Crane's.

Good deal. Thanks.
Someone please weigh an old Pro mag (I will next time I pull a valve cover) if they have one and a Scorpion.
