The flange looked like the same thickness as my jethots. What thickness are the Kook's flange?

I'll measure the OBXs tonite (if they are done in the dishwasher).

Honestly, I'm not sure how thick it is. I just know that people have mentioned that Kook's flange is thick in comparison to some other brands of headers. Kooks are the only header I have any personal experience with, and it's been many years since I did my install. I just know that I was very happy I heeded the advice to use 1" bolts. Between the flange and the gaskets, there wasn't a lot of thread left over. I used Percy's dead soft aluminum gaskets, and they were quite a bit thicker than the gaskets that came with the headers. Other gaskets may not be as thick as Percy's.

I used some 6 point ARP bolts to install my jethots, they may be 1" long. I'll check tonite.

Good advice!

Thanks for this.

I will look and see if Summit offers the same bolt in a 1.00 instead for the 0.750 that most of them seem to be....

If I find it I will post a link!

I highly recommend a set that is made by Spectre that has a hole drilled across the head of each header bolt and comes with wires/springs that you put through them to connect paired bolts on each side of ports. They can't back out. There are others with split locks and stuff, but these seem to be easier to use.
Part # 4668 I think.

With my LPP headers, I used ARP part number 400-1110. The bolts are similar to the 400-1212 but they have a 5/16 head instead of the 3/8. This makes it a little easier to fit a small wrench in the tight area. I've been running these bolts without any problems. Here is the link:

Can anyone post a picture of the merge spike?

I ran the Stage 8 bolts for a few years and they are awesome. Never worry about bolts backing out!!!

Total PITA to install though, and by the pics posted the locks might not fit on all the bolts on these OBX headers though. They were extremely close on my Pacesetters.

I placed an order for these this morning! Looking at the pics.makes me wonder if a kooks y-pipe would fit up to these with some reducers and triming of the y's inlet to put it in the right location?

I noticed that the SS y-pipes that are left over from the LPP knock offs (ebay headers) have started selling now. I wonder if people are buying these to modify to the OBX style headers now lol. Im glad I won the y-pipe I did because I would imagine that ebay will be sold out of y-pipes soon

Thumbs up

I have a set of these on my car,

They fit perfectly, just 1 small issue, I had to shave off the top of the steering shaft bolt as it was slightly hitting on the 3rd tube.
That is probably my fault since i put a thicker gasket.
