Default OBX Headers (just recieved)

I decided to try the OBX headers that nobody has really written about on this site. They just showed up this morning. I bought these from ssaccessories for $331 shipped. It took 4-5 days to ship. The box arrived in "ok" condition. I opened it up to find that the headers were packaged decently, again nothing special, but they couldnt bounce around in the box at all.

The headers look pretty decent actually. I took a few pics and measurments. I can take more if anyone wants to see something up close or at a different angle. I measured the flange thickness. It turned out to be .375" thick (3/8"). They are indeed 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" primaries. The collector is also 3.5" in diameter. There is a merge spike in the center of the collectors and its about 3" long (I'm not positive on the length due to the viewing angle). The spike is centered pretty well too. All of the welds look to be of decent quality and the oxygen sensor bungs are located on the top of the collector for the drivers side and facing out the right side on the passenger header.

Any questions...Just ask. These wont be installed for several months due to the weather, but I will do my best to make a detailed install update/how to.
sorry for the iphone pics

Like wise, for the cost I might pick up a set for when my uncoated pacesetters rust out.

If they are like all the other "generic" headers floating around, be prepared to beat them up with a hammer to get clearance for install.

Where did you get them from? I thought they stopped making these. They are the sane as the eBay, jdmcenter etc aren't they? My motor is out so noes the time to do these. Can you pm me a link if they are non sponsor?

Thanks! They look nice!

Edit: may be a dumb question but how would you get the O2 in the drivers bung?

Over on the Corvette forum many folks have used these OBX headers and the fit is perfect. As good as any of the premium brands. I've got a set for my Vette and they look great and work like headers a supposed to. They're just a good deal and although a Chinese knockoff still great.

They have thick flanges, nice welds, polished 304 stainless and what else is there?

The welds:

Those welds look a million times better than my Pacesetters. They didn't even bother grinding down a few sharp pins before packaging.

These are not the same EBAY headers that everyone was buying last year. People skipped over these because they dont come with a y-pipe. I compared these to a bunch of pictures i found of KOOKS stepped long tubes with 3.5" collectors and they are basically identical everywhere. You can definetly tell that these OBX headers were "reverse engineered" from the KOOKS stepped headers w/3.5" collectors. Hopefully installation only requires minor modifications (moveing steering arm over, some grinder work maybe) I will avoid smashing the headers as much as possilble. I'm fairly confident.

You can see that inside the primaries they sanded any of the weld that may have protruded into the unwanted areas. I was actually impressed that they took the time to make sure they were sending out a good product. Oh and they come with a lifetime warranty card and decent gaskets too

The only thing that worries me is the 3.5" collector. I don't know of a 3.5" Y-pipe or catback for LT1 cars, the standard seems to be 3". Do you think there would be a noticeable loss of torque on a car with stock heads?

Maybe this is what happened to the LPP headers. Do they offer a y-pipe?

obx makes good stuff, there is alot of people that get those but that was before you could get stainless headers pretty cheap, if ya search there is a few older threads about them, we put them in a buddys car and they fit pretty good, had to grind the k member a lil more than i had to with my pacesetters but they worked out great
