Default First time engine out the bottom

Now I have pulled them out both ways. The bottom is the way to go. Easier because there is really nothing to get hung up on and have to fight like coming out the top. At first I started pulling the harness off the engine, then I realized I had read that all you have to do is unplug the harness behind the passenger side kick panel and the harness would come out with the motor. Sure enough thats all I had to do. The power steering res. comes out still attached to motor as well. The only thing we had a problem with was the brake lines attached to the ABS unit did not want to come off. It cost us $70 at Harbor Freight, 2 six foot tow straps, 2 appliance dollys on sale, 1 2000 pound cable come along. The appliance dollys worked great and the engine rolled right out from under the car.

Yep nothing to it. The one other nice thing to have (if you already have one) is an ATV jack to place under the motor/tranny. Makes install easier once the front is sitting supported.

Brake line nuts are a problem for everyone. I take a crows foot wrench, heat and close it just a bit then lightly tap it on to the flare nut. This way it has no way to slip and then breaks it loose like cake.

I just left the wheels/tires on. The only thing used extra was my transmission jack under the trans. And yeah, you do have to carefully fish the brake lines out as you go. Not too hard, though.

Nice, at first glance I thought you were using the copper water line to lift the front of the car!!!

I'd be leery even using the truss to jack that kind of weight up...
