the late model 350 flexplate is the same as the LT1. I don't recall if the balancer bolt is the same, but IIRC the threads are the same at which point the balancer would bolt up just fine. If I'm not mistaken the crank from any 87+ SBC 1pc rear main will work just fine in an ltx engine. I may be wrong tho.

With the amount of people upgrading stock cranks to strokers you shouldn't have a problem finding a good used crank.

Um. Different cranks require different clearancing, usually. Are you sure you know what you're doing?

Not just any 350 is a LT1, if that is what you are asking. So if you are going to reuse your heads, the 350 you are looking at MUST be LT1, not vortec 350

The crank though, as long as it's a 1 peice RMS, will work, flexplate, balancer bolt, clearance etc.

Only thing I question is the snout length. but other then that it needs to be balanced like the LT1 which I know most 350's are not or it needs to be neutrally balanced which you typically give a machine shop the pistons, pins rods and bolts anyway so have them make sure the journals are right for the rods and you have to use a neutral balance flex/flywheel and the stock damper is neutrally balanced. Long story find a stock Nodular Iron crank from any LT1 LT4 except the mini LT1.

Its not that hard to clearance an LT1 block as long as you get the RIGHT rods. FWIW, an oliver billet thats contoured around the big end fits REAL well. Eric L
