Fuel pressure regulator diaphragm leaking? Filling the manifold up and getting the plugs wet would keep it from starting. Had a northstar caddy do that to me once. The big clue was liquid gasoline dripping out the tailpipes.

Somebody put Diesel fuel in the tank? One week I had about 30 cars towed in like this. The first one took a while to figure out, until I threw a match into a fuel sample. Once we spoke to all the customers, we figured out which gas station had a 87 tank full of #2 Diesel.

it ran before really rich and would start and the starting got longer and longer and now just wont start. i dont think the diaphrams leaking. its getting fuel into the cylinders but even after clearing them out and putting new plugs in i get nothing.

Do you have a strong blue spark? or a weak orange one. Could it have jumped time. Any popping when cranking or just dead

Have you tried putting the gas peddle to the floor while cranking.

Pinning the peddle with turn off the injectors as to not add more fluid to an allready RICH condition if you do have fuel leakage....(even if you dont see it).

You don't think so? Pull the vacuum line off it and have an assistant turn the key to the run position while you watch.

I think you are missing my point. The physical action of pulling the line isn't going to do much. It is the looking at the regulator while the line is pulled and the pump is running that will tell you if there is a massive problem or not.

If the peddle to the floor is making a difference and making it start or sound like starting, then I think you are on to something with a fuel leak.....

Dont be scared to crank it with the peddle down, all you are doing is killing the injectors.... Just lift when it fires.

Have you checked the injector O rings to see if they are leaking or even missing?
