Default Exhaust Leak

Ok, I need help. I put some pacesetter headers on a couple years ago. I blew the header gasket, so I bought new ones off of summit and replaced them. Now I still have an exhaust leak on the driver side at each d port. Could it be that I just bought a bad gasket or would there be something worse like a warped head? If it is a gasket issue does anyone have a suggestion for a good set of gaskets? Thanks for any help.

Fel-Pro 1406 is what I've used for 2 years with Pacesetter headers, no leaks. They're available at any national chain parts store.

Either the header flange is warped, or you're not tightening them enough. I also prefer Fel-Pro.

Not unless you know surfaces are near perfect. Using a steel core gasket is far better when dealing with aftermarket headers where the flange may not be anywhere near as level than what stock exhaust manifold is.

I think mine were the aluminum core. I will try the felpros. Otherwise I'm guessing something is warped. Thanks for your help guys.

I had the exact same issue with pacesetter mid-tubes....both copper and felpro gaskets leaked on the passenger side....of course the side which is hardest to get to The header flange was flat when we put a straight edge on it got some Earl's "pressure master" graphite foil gaskets and problem solved! My mechanic mentioned they are the nicest header gaskets he's ever seen lol.
