Default .030 over Piston ring questions

Hey guys just started putting the engine together. Got the crank installed and moved on to the rings. Anyways I have a fresh standard block bored to .030 over. So I had .030 pistons along with with some sealed power .030 rings. Checked the gap and some are sitting around .018. Spec is .010-.016. One ring is over .022. So I need a set of rings. Should I order a different brand. Herd one idea would be to go to a .040 ring. Want to do this right even if it puts this on hold. Any ideas one what to do?

Thanks in advance.

Well after talking to a buddy who is a GM mechanic who builds race engine my gaps are fine. They are better since the car will see some track days. Should be on track to a nice build.

Good advice; that ring gap won't hurt you.
I'm running over .022" on a 4" bore, and no regrets
