Default Opps bent a oil spring piston ring lock (help needed)

Hey guys I was going for piston number 2 install. Anyways I bent one of the oil locks that go on the oil piston ring. Here is a picture of what I am talking about.

Goes here

Anyways I need to get a new one. I have a sealed power set of .030 rings. Anyways a single set is on back order for a few weeks and the local part stores cant get just one. So I was on summit and found these. They are a JE piston brand.

Could I just order two of those for my one piston? Its spring break and I would really like to get the car moving again. Its been down for 3 years and everything I need is here except for one bent oil lock ring.

Any ideas? Summit could have these to me tomorrow and I could have the car going by the weekend.

I'd call a local speed shop, but don't think you can order just one support ring or even a single piston ring set.

X2 on calling a few machine shops in the area. You never know what they might have laying around.

Some companies will allow you to buy 1 set of rings for 1 piston, see if the company you bought these from will do it, do not use that ring.

Try to contact Sealed Power about a part number for just the oil control ring set, then call Jegs or Summit if you get it. They may be able to do a special order it for you. I had the same issue when installing one of the JE pistons in my Subaru. I got just one oil control ring (all 3 pieces) for like 10 or 15 bucks. Only took a couple of days to get it to me.

Well after some research I ordered two of the JE ones. Since summit can have it to me next day at ground shipping and they should work. Called my local performance shops. Nothing in stock and it seems sealed power is on back order for 1 set. So lets hope the JE ones work.

Those JE oil ring spacers won't work. They are for stroker pistons that have the piston pin bore that extends into the oil ring groove on the piston. They provide support for the oil control ring.
The ring you bent is one of the two oil control rings on each piston. The wavy part in between is only a seperator.

I'm not super optimistic about that. Different ring packs are different for a reason...

Well then I guess the car will be on the back burner. Parts are coming in today. I will compare them and see. Hopefully they are the same. If not then they go back.
