will a ls1 lid set up fit under a bolt on ultra z hood on a camaro ?
i had a formula with the ls1 lid but i ran a 6 inch ram air hood that was a pin on from vfn.

It should no problem if you do it correctly, theres and article on how to fit it under a stock z hood here : http://www.lt1engines.com/tech/ls1-l...k-camaro-hood/ if done like or similar to that i see absoloutly no problem making it fit, or you can do a setup like this: (disreguard the single plain just. Sitting there) <a href=http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff44/moosemania55/?action=view&current=2012-02-28_20-22-11_898.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff44/moosemania55/2012-02-28_20-22-11_898.jpg border=0 alt=></a>

Gained me .4 in the quarter mile over a stock style cai and fits no problem under my stock z hood.

Should fit under the ultra z hood. Since that hood was made for a ram air box.
I got a lid base, filter and very well sealing lid if interested. The ls lid will also allow use of the ram air type scoops.

Thats a good question. I have no clue. Haha ive heard of the lid being just slightly better but that is only from cars that have no ac because the condencer blocks alot of the filter on the lid setup. But is all personal prefrence i guess
my setup only cost me about $10 lol
i already had an ebay cai so i used the piping, filter and couplers from that, cut the hole in the support in the front of the bay with a big holesaw and bought the sheet meatal from my buddy for $5 (you can get the same piece at home depot for $15, its just a small galvanized sheet) and then bent that to fit around the rad and trimmed to fit the pipe. Only thing i reccomend is to find and oval shaped filter to use because the round filter im using is an absoloute bitch to get in/out of where the pipe leads. I also bought the black coupler between the maf and tb at home depot for about $4. other than that its not to hard, took me about a days work. I like the look more than the lid setup too.
