Default Bilstein shocks installation help

I have bilstein shocks and strano springs for my car. I am stuck right now because my directions are in german and i don't know how to install the silver washer cap thing. See picture

It clips onto the top of the tube to create a flat surface for the upper spring mount to rest against.

I got a response in the suspension section and was told it is a dust cap? I think that sounds more correct than an upper spring mount. Why would there be an upper spring mount?

Both answers are correct - its not a true dust cap but goes where one would, at the top of the shaft where the upper mount rests against it

It's not really a dust cap, the shock is already sealed. There are no seals on that metal cap. I told you what it does.

I don't see how the upper mount rests against it? It mounts to the top of the shock tube then the shaft goes up and the upper mount is attached there. I am sorry, pictures are better than a description.
