Default Need Tires. Are these good?

Its that time again. I need new tires. I was running 18s all around 10.5s on the rear and 9.5s on the front. Due to increase of cost of University I am now getting 9.5s all around =(. So my question is how wide can I go without having trouble to rotate them.

Oh and has any of you guys have had any trouble with these. I heard summer tires are only good in the summer, but lack in cold climate?

would get better answers in the wheels/tires section

BUT... since you're here... depending on the brand, the widest i'd go on a 9.5" rim is a 285. some companies run narrower and you may be able to find a 295 that would work, but i can't recall any

Would I have trouble rotating them with 295?

they seem to be decent, but if your in school, and money is tight, why not go with a harder compound tire to make your purchase last a tad longer? and run soft tires when replacing them isnt as much of a burden? i was a broke college kid once, now i just dont have college as an excuse.

Hehe your right. Most of money goes towards my school and gas is now 4.55 a gallon =(. So maybe like a all season high performance?

where do you live? i still use r-compound autoX/road race tires year round, but we rarely get snow here

rotating tires won't be an issue if they are all the same size. it'd be kinda dumb to have 275's on the back and 295's on the front though

I run the ZE-512 (275/40ZR17), I have no illusions that it is a great tire, but it is very stable even if I loose traction and it isn't a death trap in the rain. I have ran them since 2005. For the price you really can't beat them. I think they are perfect for a stock or nearly stock hp car. With my current setup I can lay into the pedal in second and light them up. They will wear a little faster than other all season tires and they make more noise than others. When I really need the traction I have a set of M/T's.

i honestly couldnt tell you the mileage. i had them for about 2 years though and they still had decent tread left when i traded the car. they actually didnt wear as fast as i though but the more the wore the less traction i could tell they got but i would definitely buy them again.
