Default Lt1 fuel pump question

Heys guys my neighbor has a 95 trans am that's been sitting for about 4 years and has finally decided to sell it to me.my question is when I turn then key to the run position the fuel pump does not turn on, I tried jumping it from the gray wire on the passenger side but still nothing. He said he replaced the ignition harness in the car is there a wire under the dash for the fuel pump or something .any help would be appreciated.

Theres a plug in above the rear axle right by the drivers side tire that the fuel pump gets power from.

Id see if you have voltage there first.

You can check the fuel pump relay as well, but I think pump failures are much more common than a relay failure since the are a fairly simple device.

Yes, as pump failures are pretty common and it also could have sucked that varnish gas in it and burned up. Have you flushed the lines and tank to get rid of the old gas?

I bought a blazer that sat for a few yrs & after I did a bunch of work It ran for a few days & the pump went out. Then the spider injector went out. Settin is hard on vehicles. Replace the pump with a walbro & hardwire kit from the get go if your gonna mod it later. If I remember right thats cheaper than the A/C Delco pump. After you get rid of the old gas put fresh gas in with seafoam to clean the injectors. After a few tanks of that replace the fuel filter. Hope this helps
