Default Anyone running this cam?

I was told my car has a Crane Cam. I'm thinking it should be the 227 cam according to the lift that the guy told me. 479/518 lift. I was pondering on putting a cc 306 back in it. Once upon a time before I bought it thats the cam that was in it and thats what it's tuned for now. The previous owner had to rebuild the motor and put the crane back in it and sold it to me before getting around to having it retuned. Just wondering if it would be worth the $ to put a cc306 back in it. He said it was quite a bit stronger with the 306 but then again it was tuned for the 306. Thanks guys.

What do you plan to use the car for?
Auto trans? TC stall rpm?
Rear gearing?

If it were mine, I sure wouldn't change cams just to put a cam like the 306 in it.
Tune it for the 227 cam, and you may be pleasantly surprised.
It's good for 11-sec performance in an F-body.

The car was originally built by thunder racing back several years ago. It's an A4 with 3:42 gears. It has full boltons, GTP Racing stage 2 heads, 1.6 RR, 3200 vigilante stall. I'm not worried about drivability at all. There will be almost no start and stop driving.

Keep the 227. The 306 is a dog on the bottom, as most on this board will say.

What kinda rwhp can I expect with this setup when I get it tuned? I know there's way more to it than peak Hp. I'm just wondering really. It did 401 rwhp with the 306 I was told. Think that was with the 18 inch C5 wheels too.

Back about 6 years ago when i first came to this site everyone always recommended the cc306 to anyone wanting an aggressive cam. Wierd how you come back a couple years later and it's totally different lol.
