Default Exhaust Help

Installed my Pacesetter LT headers and was wondering what some of you guys did to hook and exhaust pipe to the driverside collector? Mines close to the floor and roughly a 1/4-1/2" above the frame rail not allowing anything to slip on. I'd like to just put dumps on the ends. Anyone have some ideas on what to do?

I had to stick a big *** stick into the collector and very slowly and
CAREFULLY pull it down.

Or try to flatten a pipe some to clear the frame rail.

I had the same issue, either put washers under you trans cross member or you need to change your motor mounts. Both will work in a pinch, motor mounts are the best bet.

Won't motor mounts raise it higher?

I would think they would raise the engine higher unless theres a different mount available to lower the engine a little.

When the motor mounts fail, the engine drops down but the tranny mount stays put... essentially the whole assembly points down in the front which is why your collectors point up and to the rear. You could cut the cross member, stack washers where the trans cross brace bolts to the car (lowering the tranny), or replace the motor mounts...

Ahhh, that paints the picture in my head. That would be a better plan than trying to bend down the collectors. I was very nervous about damaging my heads when I bent mine down years ago. They were mild steel and bent pretty easily, I wouldnt even attempt it on my stainless header I have now.

Default Headers

I also had the same issues. I had a 95 TA I put the headers on, I was told by pacesetter to change the motor mounts and trans mount, by doing that it did raise the motor and the collectors were hitting the floor board. I sent the headers back to pacesetter to be tested, I even sent them pics. Pacesetter sent them back to and said nothing was wrong. I bought a 97 TA and had the same issues, that's two cars with fitment issues. I called pacesetter again and was told the same crap so I filled a complaint with the BBB. Let's just say I bought a set of KooKs LT headers and ORY, what a difference. They fit great and that was also with new motor and trans mounts. Good luck with pacesetter! I would spend the extra money and dump the pacesetters. Kooks all the way.

I'm probably gonna heat and bend the pipes to clear. There cheap for a reason.
