^ aftermarket intake manifold? well the edelbrock one is just a waste of money..So if he gets the stocker ported that'd be the best route.Bigger throttle body would prob. do him some good as well.If he doesnt wanna run nitrous on it,maybe he should consider doing a 383 build,if he wants to stay all motor.

Someone mentioned 383 above but that wont make a meaningful different if he kept the same heads, more displacement needs to be fed with a better topend because ALL the air comes and goes through the heads.

Far as exactly what well ported stockers would net him it is hard to say without knowing where the car is now.

Dyno tune would help alot, you didn't mention any type of tune, if it is untuned its leaving a lot on the table. The 503 is a fairly mild cam, but with basic ported heads, the 503, and a tune you should be around 350rwhp. With a bigger cam around a 230/236 and some LE2s or AI190-200cc heads and a tune you would approach 410rwhp. Keeping the 503 would give you around 380rwhp. Bang for your buck would be a 100 shot, giving you around 450rwhp on the juice.

A little Boost is an option (S/C or turbo)... but if the tune isn't spot on... kaboom.

subframes change the whole feel of the car... i would do that in a heart beat... ad far as gears go a 456 is high.. traction will be a pain. i would say 410's and do some more head work that will make give that cam some power along with a ported intake man. and 58mm throttle body, if you dont already have them

Sfc's do wonders. I would say spray it. It is the cheapest route to more power. As long as he doesnt lean out or detonate the motor will take it just fine.

you can make you own subframe connectors pretty easily... anything beyond 3.73 gears and they lose durability and strength.

Your friend could always change to a more advanced lobe design by going to the xfi466..

The juice is very hard to beat money wise...

Very true, stay away from 4.56 gears in a 10 bolt. I broke mine with 4.10s in it.

Also, if he is not already running them, 1.6 roller rockers will help a bit.
