Forgot to mention iam using pcmforless tune but this is a must tune it before you drive it !
So Summit racing tells me that the cc503 is not applicable to an lt1? Ive seen guys on here running them......what gives? though this would explain why the cam sprocket in the kit is not for cam driven water pump and the VALVE Retainers dont fit on!
Any insight!!!!

Apperently I was foolish for buying the cc503 cam kit from summit......returning that and reordering the ccc503 cam alone.....got 1.6 rockers coming, slp cai is here, msd opti and coil is here....
So i need springs, lifters, seats, retainers, any thing else? Any brand that people have liked?
Any Advice is Greatly appreciated!!!!

Just to bring up the stuff that nobodies mentioned. Don't forget that you're going to need intake gaskets, timing cover, and water pump gaskets. I'd also set aside a couple hundred bucks for the unexpected that will inevitably happen. I've got Patriot gold extreme springs on my setup but there are a lot of guys on here running PAC and Comp as well. I'd say go with your gut. I recommend going with a little more spring than you actually need just so things aren't running at the limit. Take a look at your lifters when you remove them. If they aren't scored and none tick now they are probably fine for reusing. I reused mine. Cleaning is a big deal as well. Make sure you get all the old gasket and **** off before you start putting it back together. Torque everything. SHBOX.com is awesome. He has the full step by step cam swap. That's all I got. Good luck. P.S. Before you settle on a shelf cam, call up AI or Lloyd Elliot and talk to them about your setu. They can most likely spec you something better than you'll get with a cookie cutter pre-made. (No disrespect intended to those that run off the shelf bump sticks.)

thanks gregrob and rich for responses...
Ive got all seals and gaskets, just looking into what kind of springs/lifter/rods that i should get to finish this puppy up, i went on comps website and have the cc503 cam that is for lt1, and also the suggested springs which were beehive 918's i believe with the retainers, seats, locks, 7.2 hrdened rods.....
is stock timing chain and sprockets ok to reuse?
Only thing i was wondering is if beehive 918 were going to be ok or to go with some dual springs?
thanks for the response.....this is where my car is at right now, all cleaned up and ready for install once I get what I need ordered!!!

You should have bought my LT1 cam in the for sale section, basically a 503cam with more lift (more area under the curve = more power). I am selling for $210 shipped

Well Mav if your interested here is the link, its a great cam for the street and has a little lope to it.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/parts-cla...8-cam-lt1.html

This cam is a custom grind and its better than the standard CC 503 cam.

BTW I ran PAC beehive springs with this cam "1518" springs good for .650 lift

That would be a great cam for him if he had at least a 3.90 gear
