Default Knock sensor removal

When I looked under the car I found the knock sensor (driver side) wire was cut, Should I remove the knock sensor to connect the wire ? or just try while it's in there ?

How do I remove the knock sensor ?

is coolant going to be out when removing the sensor ?

you can do it eather way. i would just unclip it the wire from the knock sensor and soilder it back together and clip i back on. and no water will come out. and if you want to pull the sensor out. it will just unscrew out.

The sensor is screwed into the block coolant drain hole, so coolant will come out if you remove the sensor.

Coolant will definitely come out. You don't need to remove the sensor to repair the wire anyway, unless Vette wire harnesses were some kind of funky arrangement? You should be able to squeeze the plastic part and it will come off, reattach it to the harness, or splice in a new pigtail.

If you insist on removing it, or hook it all up and there is a code for the knock sensor, sometimes it will come out by a deep socket, if its an original sensor from 94 though it may break and just spin. Then use one of those strap wrenches to get it out.
