1995 camaro stuck in open loop
I just got a 95 z28. It was a project car when I bought it. The Guy had put a 6speed swap in it. He also did a cc306 cam. Its got ported heads and a ported intake all new arp head studs and bolts. The car also has Hooker long tube headers and flow master exhaust that will be changed out with a borla. When I got the car it would hardley run it would back fire and had no power. I replace the computer and wiring harness with one from a 95 six speed car. I then replaced the optispark with a OEM one and all new plugs and wires. I replaced the coil and icm the o2s and the coolant temp sensor. The car fired up and holds idle now. The problem is as soon as the car fires the cooling fans come on and it Burns way to rich. It is back firing between 1 and 2 thousand rpms under load. The car is stuck in a open loop and will not go into a closed loop. I am waiting for software and cables to get here so I can tune and data log. I could really use some input on this though.

My advice: Leave the tuning to the professionals....either get a mail order or email tune from somebody who does it for a living or better yet; find a competent local dyno tuner who is familiar with LT1's....they will definitely pick up more HP than a mail order tune and more importantly can improve driveability and even gas mileage.

Professionals don't usually post their work for others to scavenge. Most of the files I've seen posted up are pretty ugly hack guesswork. I would start with a known STOCK calibration.
Search my recent posts in the last couple weeks. I spelled out the basics of a proper tuning method.
