Fuel Pump Question!!!

Fuel Pump Question!!! I have a 1987 Chevy truck that 4 wheel drive. I believe my fuel pump went bad as the motor will only run off of ether and when I put the fuel pressure gauge on it with the key on and the engine off the needle spiked to about 48lbs and then bled off to about 20lbs. My truck has the pump in the tank, would a regular fuel pump that came stock in this truck work? I was looking at the Holley Blue frame mount fuel pump, would that be better? Thanks for any and all the help guys.

No it will not, I put an LT1 in a 90 Chevy pick-up and I was told as well that the TBI pump would work, well it wouldnt so I swapped in an aftermarket 255 LPH pump in place of the TBI pump, pressure was there solid all the time.
