Default Muffler to replace my Flowmaster (help)

I have a 94' z28 with a Flowmaster catback. I love how it sounds, but iv'e heard of Flowmaster performance robbing potential. Just wonder if anyone can help me make a decision on a good flowing muffler thats just as loud, thanks.

I would be curious to know this as well, I also have a Flowmaster American Thunder kit on my car that could use a new muffler without changing out the entire cat back...

For the price of a new muffler and having it installed, Id say get a cutout... best of both worlds

X2 You won't even get a SOTP improvement out of a muffler change. Keep the nice sounding Flowmaster and get a cutout for the track or messin' around on the street. That's my setup exactly and it works great.

Emissions laws vary from region to region. Might want to check with your local laws before ruling out the cutout.

I had SLP Loudmouth 2 and like how loud it is was but it was to raspy for my liking,
I now have a texas speed true duels with dinomax bullits dumped before the axel. It had a deep rummbel at idel and a deep roar at high rpms. And with it echoing under the car is sound real good.

Im on the Magnaflow bandwagon now too. I always HATED how they sounded online with my speakers. None of the recordings Ive heard get how deep and clean a magnaflow is. When I was installing my duals I was stuck on a MAC muffler but couldnt find two in stock anywhere. I ended up buying some magnaflows at Pepboys. It is the cleanest sounding muffler Ive heard on an lt1. Now with my duals I have the perfect sound Ive always looked for. No matter what camera I try to use I cant get a clean recording.

The crossflow design from flowmaster does hurt power but that's the only flowmaster that does! I run the 1 chamber race mufflers. I really like the magnaflows aswell

The loss, if any, is so negligible on a near stock car it's not even worth mentioning.

All I can say is that back in the day I had the 2 chamber American Thunder series cat back, My car made 648 RWHP, I got tired of the loud noise on the highway so I decided to install a Flowmaster SUV muffler, It was bigger and a whole lot quieter, and on the dyno, Same Horsepower, so that tells me Flowmaster are not that bad if they can quite the sound and still have the airflow but everyone bashes them, are they speaking from actual experience like what I did, or internet talk?
