Question Opinions??

Does anyone have any opinions on Edelbrock headers. I'm thinking about picking up their Tubular Exhaust Systems Headers for my LT1. Its a firehawk so its going into an slp catback and i'm not sure about the y pipe (might get one custom if i have to).

Any thoughts? The headers are here under exhaust, then under Tubular exhaust system

a buddy of mine just put the Edelbrocks on his 93 TA
They seem crappy to me. Plus the way they routed the primary tubes is horrible
I would absolutely dread doing a tuneup with those on

if you're set on shorties, look into Mac's, SLP ('93-'95) or AS&M
from everything i've read about shorty headers those 3 designs seem to be the most liked for plug access ease of install and quality

I have the Edelbrock Shorties (i bought the car with them, so i dont know how much power they added) and plugs arent too bad. I think the plugs were relatively easy to do with the exception of 3 of them. The front 3 on the passenger side are PITA's, but i think thats normal. The driver's side i had done in 30 mins. Personally i would go AS&M. But seriously, your money (and time) is better spent on some other mod, because shorties arent gonna net you much power gain.

Save your knuckles and wires and go with either AS&M or Mac shorties. I would suggest Longtubes, of course, Jet Hots or Dynatechs, but if you need to pass emissions shorties are for you.

The Edelbrock shorties are terrible. They're restrictive, and the design is just terrible. You've got to cut and weld them to get them to fit, wtf? And after that, they still leak. On top of htat, they flow very poorly compared to the Macs or AS&M. Plug access is absolutely terrible, and it's almost impossible to keep wires in the car for more than 3-4 months without frying the hell out of them. Trust me, DO NOT go with the Edelbrock shorties.

How do I know? Because I have them.

It's too bad Gangly doesn't post much anymore, or he could show you his affection for the Eddies too
