Okay so I'm ready for a cam upgrade! I'm looking for something as ridiculous as possible lol it's not a daily driver so mileage isn't a concern (what little I have all ready) so I'm looking for a good hard pushing cam. I would like to replace heads too but that's pretty expensive... so unless I get a good deal on some it will probably just be a cam swap. Thanks as always!

There are hundreds of cams, if "power under the curve" isn't your concern....
I'm sure we could all recommend a NASTY sounding cam that would put a huge smile on your face at start up, but do you want the guy next to you with a mediocre sized cam making you look bad..?
If you're keeping the stock heads/intake then the CC503 always seems to be a winner. Nice lope with USEABLE power.
I'm sure a few more opinions will chime in soon.
Good hunting

Thank you both, I'll look into one for specs and everything. I was told changing lifters would be recommended as well? I know I need rods and springs as well. Thanks for the idea image look into the cam right now

This the one you're recommending?

That 230/236 sounds very appealing! I like those specs. But I agree, a nice head port would do those good.

That's pretty big for a stock head car. I'd say plan for the future. Get all your supporting mods out of the way first such as stall tire suspension and such. I really wish I'd have gone that route. I did heads and cam and now I've got power but can't plant it. That cams not a whole lot different than mine. A little bigger but I have ported heads to go with it. A lot of guys will say the 503 is about as big as you can go with a stock headed car.

Another word of advice...
When you swap out the cam, make DAMN sure that the dowel pin on the front of the cam matches the length of the dowel pin on your stock cam.
92-early 94 LT1s had a shorter 0.340" dowel pin for spline drive Optisparks and late 94-97s had a 0.625" dowel pin. I think every off the shelf cam comes with the longer dowel pin. If you go custom cam you can tell them to make sure it's the right length. All you really need to do is tap it in to the length you need with a rubber mallet.

Eventually I wanna stroke to a 383, but that's gonna be a while. But I want to get more power so that's why I'm starting here. I'm comfortable with changing cams when I stroke it, so for now I want a good cam that will give me some great numbers, try to replace heads as well, and probably rockers.
