Sounds like where the drivers side knock sensor mounts. Is it in about the same spot as the one on the passenger side?

Thats because there isn't. Only corvettes came with 2 knock sensors. GM probably just plugged the hole on the cars that only came with 1 knock sensor.

Yup, you can use it for a block drain if you want.

My LT1 came from a 95 Impala. It had a connector on that side of the motor for a knock sensor and I had code for a knock sensor missing until I installed one (a total of 2 needed to clear the code). So Corvettes were not the only ones. Look at your wire harness and see if there is a connector for both sides of the motor. If there is you need 2.

its my friends 93 TransAm
his engine builder gave him back a 95 motor, so alot of this stuff is confusing
I pretty much plugged most of the electrical stuff back up, and I didnt see a second knock sensor plug/wire
I guess we'll just plug it up

1 more question though: Where does the oil pressure sending unit go into the block?
Im not sure if thats the right name for it, but its the other sensor for the oil that isnt plugged into the side of the oilpan.

I hate to ask all these dumb questions, but the owner of the car didnt label a damn thing, take pictures, or take notes of anything when he pulled out the motor.

Ive got a plug there for my motor (96 formula, new longblock, so i dont know if it's a vette or f-body), i had a guy do some work on my car (bmw guy) and he said he "replaced my ECT" (and showed me the new one) and it was right were you guys are talking about near the spark plugs. I tried unplugging it and my temp sensor read cold on a hot engine, but my ship shift was working and my fans turned on. It might be a temp sensor for your BCM for your dash guage, just a thought.
