Default Sad day for this LT1.

Torrential rain in South Texas flooded the area.

Unfortunately this car was a victim.

Did the water get deeper? That doesn't look to be deep enough to ruin anything?

Mine was in water that deep once here in FL years ago. I let it dry out for a week before I started it and it was fine. Shop vac and some FL sun shine dried it out nice.

Did you try to start it and hydralock it?
I tried to go through a "puddle" underneath an overpass in my '85 and felt my car get buoyant. I opened the door, water came rushing in, I pushed it to higher ground, let it "dry" for a bit, started it up, white smoke came pouring out the exhaust and I was on my merry way. God was on my side because I could have easily ruined the engine. Some how I didn't...

@ZFreie: Not sure, not my car (thank God). Mine is on high ground in a garage with a car cover on it. (yes that's the truth).

@SS RRR: I wasn't there, I am stationed in Germany, I'll be back in a month. From what I heard, 4in of rain in 1 hour.

This picture was from a friend whose neighbor owns the car. I feel bad for them. LT1's are given hell by us LS1 guys, but they are being lost daily, and I find that sad for those who will be looking for these 20 years from now.

First, as a fellow vet, hooah and thank you for your service. Are you a hooah, hooyah, oorah, or hootie hoo?

Second, I'm definitely keeping my 95 Formula and keeping it an LT1 no matter what. I may even leave it stock lol. In 30 years, it's gonna be a classic, like my 80 Formula was when I had it. Mistake made in letting that one go .

Nope. It was parked down at an angle and some how no water got into the intake. Pulled # 1 and #2 plugs but it was bone dry. Put them back in and drove it home. Checked rear oil, trans fluid, engine oil and all where clean. lol lucky i guess.
