valvetrain noise from my headers??
ive been trying to hunt this down for a while and today i had time and a jack to jack it up while its running. its a tick tick whoosh kinda sound, first i thought my header bolts were backing out, but its definately not coming from the engine bay period. also im positive i have no exhaust leaks anywhere. i tried replacing the pushrods because it really sounds like they were bent or loose and slapping around in there. nothing. so now im starting to think its coming from the bellhousing/clutch area, maybe a broken finger on the pressure plate and was convinced of that for a while, its for sure coming from under the car.
fast forward to today, im able to crawl completely underneath the car with it running and low and behold, its without a doubt coming from INSIDE my primaries in my long tube headers! its not a leak and i double checked everywhere with the screwdriver to my ear trick, and its definitely coming from the headers. is this bad? is it valvetrain noise im hearing and is it misadjusted or parts about to fly apart on me? i have pacesetter longtubes with offroad y pipe, no cat, and egr and air delete and some other things that are irrelevent. does anyone know whats going on here?

Car idles and runs beautifully, no smoke, no power loss at any engine speed and no misses. No internal engine work except for when I replaced the pushrods which made no difference

With my mechanics stethoscope I hear the same valve train quayion noise on the valve covers as I do the headers. The stock manifolds being cast deaden the sound. I dont think you have a problem.
