LT1 surging/hesitating when Hot

LT1 surging/hesitating when Hot Hey guys im trying to be patient but for the life of me googling and looking on other forums i cant get a straight answer on why my LT1 starts to surge and hesitate when hot(220) in the middle. It runs fine until the needle hits the middle of the gauge. It also backfires at around 5000rpms. Can someone throw out some ideas what it could be? there is alittle oil leaking on the opti but i cant convince myself that thats the problem. what could it be? MAF, O2 sensors, intake leak, opti, air fuel ratio what? It doesnt seem to pickup as fast when its hot. Please help. lol 
Mine would do the same with bad o2 sensors you may want to check into that first , opti could also be the problem if the oil has worked its way in there its going to go out .
