Confused about water pumps...
Quick Question... bought a performance water pump for a 1996 pontiac Firebird, 5.7L V8 350ci, bored over .030.... it is missing a hose hookup from the bottom drivers side radiator hose to bottom of water pump same side. Is this hose necessary, or is it a deletion I haven't heard about, that improves coolant flow?

no you dont need anything except the two main hoses to the raditor.
the driver side little hose goes to the engine cooler than the raditor
the the two passanger side little ones go the the heater core.
and there is no improvment from not having it other than more stuff in the engine bay. do you have the cooler hooked up? i only heard vettes not having them

There is no performance pump for the LT1. Some places just sell the STOCK one as GMPP and it is higher flow than the electric pumps many people swap to.
I would consider returning it and getting the one for the way your car is options, no sense in "making it work" when it is NOT a "performance" piece. Just get the right one.
