If you haven't bought them yet, run 1.7s .... at least on the intake

Nope I haven't bought them. So 1.7 on intake and 1.6 on exhaust? Then just guide plates right?

Will there be any clearance issues with the 1.7 rr? Ptv or valve cover?

What heads are on the Impala?
If untouched stock iron I believe the lift with 1.5s is enough to smash the retainer into the exhaust valve seal.

Now assuming it is iron heads since you didn't say heads and cam or tell us anything otherwise.

Also with the iron heads and pressed studs SA is your only option without removing the heads for machining.

The only case of PTV issues on a stock shortblock LT1 I ever heard of I believe to be a dishonest person who decked the block and his cam guy was a raging incompetent, for 99%+ of us PTV is a non-issue with a stock shortblock.
Valvecover clearance will depend on the rocker choosen, basically widebody or narrowbody and the clearance is not height but rather width issues with internal bracing.
