You could buy a monster built tranny... drivetrain and slicks, but... well, you know... .

I think ya did great. Car sounds good, run looked good and ya seem like ya had a good time. So, it's all there.

All ya need is more seat time... . Just know that you've got a new clutch in your future and practice until you find the right combo.

Well the car ran it's fastest time when I revved the car to like 5k dumped the clutch and put the pedal to the floor.(this was last year) This last time I went to the track the car took off quicker (hence the similar ET) but didn't accelerate as well. (Hence the low MPH) I don't consider my self an expert but I'm deff not new at this. Going from 3.07's to 3.73's I should have picked up some MPH's but I lost speed instead. That signaled to me that there is something wrong with the engine, it must be down on power.

Even if I launched bad the car should still trap a similar speed. Instead it was 3-5 MPH slower than my best run with the 3.07's. That doesn't make sense to me.

Well the shop with the dyno will not reduce the rate. I asked about a half hour rental instead and they said they do not do 30 min rentals. Only the $150 for an hour. Not willing to work with me at all. I'm disappointed by that. I'm just annoyed that I don't think it will take the whole hour to do a few pulls, probably more like 30 mins. Then I wasted the extra time. I want to know what the car is making fo HP but I just feel like $150 is too much to do only 3 pulls according to them with no tuning or anything. Just 3 pulls....

I have tunercat and everything to tune it but i don't know how to tune myself. I only bought Tunercat so I could change the gearing in the PCM as I went 3.07 to 3.73. (Pay a tuner $75 to tune the gears only or buy the program (Almost same cost) and do it myself and then I can tune whatever I want whenever I want) A no-brainer there...

Granted they are not cheap but hourly rate for dyno is better than 150, call TTP in NJ. (not sure how north you are in NY though)

Yea the problem is this place is only 15 mins away. Where most places are hours away. I guess if I pay $75 at a place a few hours from me then I'll end up spending a bunch on gas anyways. Seems like unless there are other choices within an hour it probably isn't worth it considering the gas and time lost going there. I would end up even on cost and end up behind on time...

I paid $125 my last time 5-6 years ago, and have done it 6-7 times over the years. Just do it and be done.

I assume the dyno has the OBD1 connector and everything so they can read what the PCM is doing?

They put a wide band in the tail pipe and some sort of probe for rpm signal. They floor it in 3rd. The computer spits out paper.
