Even if it ever got out of there, it is just a piece of soft plastic that would be consumed by the combustion process. Honestly, I would not worry about it.

I agree that people are being a little bit too harsh on the guy...not like he was being careless and messed it up, the hose shot off...happens to even the best of us.

That hole is not TOO important as people have pointed out however I would not be comfortable leaving a random plastic piece inside my motor. PROBABLY wont hurt anything, but peace of mind is a great thing.

Honestly, I know you are stubborn and do not want to remove the manifold or replace the gaskets, BUT, if you can not get that out of there, you SHOULD. It takes very little time to do the job and most auto parts stores have the gaskets in stock, and they arent even that pricey really. Get your gaskets, get some RTV Silicone and do it right man. I have learned never to half-*** ANYTHING when it comes to cars, so just be safe and get it out regardless of what it takes.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck! Let us know how it goes.

Remove the throttlebody and if you can still see it, try some long reach needle nose pliers. Some curve at the tip to help with any angles.

Default Thanks.

Needless to say this whole thing has been really discouraging. I was reluctant to do this cleaning in the first place, easy at it may be. Im not very knowledgeable. I know for next time though. Im going to take it in and see whats what.
