My cousin has a 2000 z28 with a 2.73 gear stock just with a slp air lid and I can't beat him and my car ran a 12.9 before the guy said who I bough it from but I can't even beat my cousins car what's wrong with my car I did a 13.3 at 104. rear end can not really handle stock hp, it depends on your tracktion. something has to be wrong if your car runs 12.9- 13.3 and your cousins car is stock

No I know for a fact he only has a air lid and I wanted to keep my cam just make the most and cheapest horse power I can with this setup I have when I bought my car the stupid *** put winter tires on it so they never hook just spin and he has z rateds Don't know the tire size off the top of my head When we race on the street from like a 30 roll he beats me by like a half of fender and on the free way from like a 50-110 he walks on me by like a car and a half

Has it been tuned? That would be my best guess.

Or something, you should be in the 340+rwhp range and running 12.50's or less now. Are you sure it has a cam ?

So the car is untuned. Those chips do nothing other than advance the timing and are made for a stock engine. You need a tune, either mail order or dyno, gears, and might want to consider a bigger stall. Do a full tuneup too if you already havnt(plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc) to make sure everything else is good to go, if it has been sitting for 4 years. There is no reason your car cant be a low 12 second car if you finish setting it up properly.

My god is it really that hard to use punctuation??? Makes it hard to read what you write. So annoying...

But anyways that Jet chip will not do anything significant for performance at all. It's gonna need a good dyno tune or at least a PCMforless mail order tune to run worth a crap. FWIW my bolt-on LT1 runs what your car does so there's definitely a lot left on the table with your setup.

My bolton car runs almost a second faster than what your car runs so yes there is something very wrong.

You need to get it tuned for the hotcam. I have the hotcam and LT4 springs with stock rockers and I trap 108mph. You should run 108-110mph.
Check out Ion @ Madtuner for a tune. He's local to us in Elgin so no shipping.

Dont stress on the horsepower numbers. A stalled auto isn't going to put down impressive numbers. But once it's running correctly, the track time should show that it's putting down some power. You should also be beating a lid only ls1 car once it's running correctly. My PCMforless tune was under a hundred and I bought the cable to upload it to my pcm myself.

Just saw it's a 93 so you can't upload the tune yourself. Also since it's been sitting so long, do some maintenance. You'd be surprised how much difference a tune up can make.

If you're faster at the track I wouldn't even worry about beating him on the street. So many variables go into racing on the street.
