Default Is there any fix for my EGR besides deleting it?

Hello, ive got a 96 z28 auto. Ive recently put pacesetter longtubes with air and egr on with a ORY and summit glasspack. I sometimes get an EGR code and im pretty sure its from not having enough backpressure. I just delete the code but comes up almost everytime I drive it. I used to get an egr code before the headers so I got a new egr valve, then the code came back again. During the header install I cleaned the egr and still get the code and im not sure if the valve is already bad or if its from running headers. Does anyone running pacesetter longtubes have a functional EGR? Id really like to get my gas mileage back.

Specifically what code are you getting?

"Backpressure" won't affect the EGR system.

Check the EGR pipe for leaks. I found that the EGR hookup on Pacesetter LTs is pretty far back so I needed to stretch and bend the pipe to make if fit properly. Unfortunately, that caused it to tear near the intake manifold so I ultimately blocked everything off.
