Default Reclocking LS1 steering shaft

Ive got the shaft and using a dremel, Ive ground down the part where it was bent from the factory to keep the splined shaft in the female end. How do I separate the two? Every write-up Ive seen just says to separate them but never how. Ive got it ground down as far as I can, let it soak in PB Blaster overnight, tapped lightly with a hammer and its not moving.

Should I tap harder, get an air hammer, etc?

Tap a bit harder. It should break free. Remember its almost like its fused together.

Tapping it does nothing give it a meaningful HIT, you will not hurt it..

Bump from the dead.

I'm going to be doing this in the next week or so and don't believe I'll have access to air tools? will an electric dremmel and hammer/chisel do the trick or will that take me all week? I noticed the write-up uses air-tools but I was curious to see if anyone has been successful without em.

I hope it just has a spot weld on it and NOT a full bead. It's job is to be able to collapse in case of a front end collision.
