Default Wiring help needed ASAP!

Ok, so I was going through and refreshing my wiring harness and ran into a small problem...there is a ground wire that bolts to the frame on the driver side, just above the Sway Bar Bracket. A single black wire with an eyelet on it. WTF does it go to???

I was taping everything up and it just fell out with about 4 inches of wire on it...looked like it broke somehow...maybe I did it or maybe it was just old, but I ripped apart the entire wire loom in 6 inches in every direction and can not find where it came from! I found a grouping of ground wires running into the 3-way split that goes to the front and back of the bay, and the fuse box. I can not find this thing to save my life and I need to know what uses that ground and if anyone knows where it may have broken?

I need help on this ASAP and wiring diagrams are NOT helping me at the moment...

It is a ground wire that connects to the stud on the coil bracket along with the other wires from the engine wiring harness.

The black wire is a ground for the cruise control module and is at the same spot on the frame rail that the braided strap that goes to the coil stud.

So the only thing it grounds is the cruise control? I am getting rid of the CC so if I do, I don't need that ground?

You should replace it with a larger gauge wire and use it as an engine ground.

I should what??? I think you missed the point here...

The ground went to something that needs to be grounded...it broke and I can not find where it went or the other end of the break...If I put my engine back together and crank this thing and that ground was something important, I will be screwed. Adding a larger gauge wire and running it to an engine ground would do me absolutely no good because yes that adds an engine ground, but that doesn't resolve the problem of having something in the harness not grounded which is my main concern.

I had this wire eyelet rip out on my harness, it was bolted to the side of the frame rail, I soldered it back together and run a BBC ground strap to the coil bracket. I don't know if it is the same wire you ripped out, but my fans wouldn't turn on until I reconnected it.

The ground wire for the block is large and uncovered and braided, the cruis control wire is like a 12 gauge wire that went into the harness by where the CC is mounded down low.

This wire went up and into the main loom that runs along the top of the frame from the firewall then splits off to go left to the fuse box and right to the lighting/front of car. It comes out of that loom and bolts to the frame. Nothing else went there. It is a single black 12-14 Gauge black wire with an eyelet. It bolts into the side of the frame underneath that loom, and above the Sway Bar Bracket/Cruise Control Box on the Driver side of the car.

Sounds like the cruise ground.. Easiest way to check is unplug the cruise, ohm the ground wire in the connector to the chassis. If its open then there's your wire.

Granted if its a split ground you might lose something else..but I don't remember anything else being down there to ground out.
