Default Head choice on 383

I have plans of building a 383 this winter with hopes of around 500 horse. This isn't a dd for me, but more of a weekend worrior with some track time. I've looked at the LE3 and would like some input on a setup like that. would the LE trick flows be to big for something like this? Thoughts please

Are you wanting 500 Wheel HP or flywheel HP? Those head will not be too big for a 383.

500whp N/A takes some serious coin. You're looking at aftermarket engine management (gonna need RPMs to make that kind of power - RPMs which the stock PCM can't handle) and the drivetrain to boot. You're looking at an easy $15,000+ if you're starting from scratch.

I have 10k invested in my motor and it makes 455whp - those extra 45HP are incredibly hard to come by.

Depends on your power goals and budget you can go as basic as LE3 stock castings or as high as some AFRs

I was wondering if that was a little to high of a goal but wherever it ends up is where it ends up. Pulling the motor this month and tearing it down this month. hopefully i'll have a decision on some of the major parts by then

Not trying to knock the head vendors on here, but if you are looking to go fast you need to break away from the mold. If not you will only be as fast as the next guy.

Think out side of the box. What is your budget like?

This x1000.

You will need big heads, big RPMs (new computer), big cam, and a high dollar stable valvetrain. It probably wont be a daily driver. Then keep in mind you need a stout transmission and rear end to keep it all in one piece, another 5 grand easy when all is said and done.

It can be done MUCH cheaper and easier if you go nitrous instead of NA, and you will still keep your street manners.
