Small 180cc Pro 1 Dart heads, that have some porting. 396ci with 4340 Eagle crank and rods. Mahle .040 forged with small relief. Super Vic with mechanical alcohol injection. There is the cam card, it's pretty small. The motor came straight out of my totaled street car.

With that being said I am giving $50 cash to whoever travels the furthest to the shootout next year 1 way.
I think this is the first year I did not pre enter weather I knew I was going or not

I lost $385 in advance paid hotel reservations and 55$ entry fee for that decision. But hope to be able to make it next year.
Here here!

My car SHOULD be done by then and my wife KNOWS I want to go. Maybe I can Finaly get a lane next to Chris! I am guessing he will win but I am SURE it will be an exciting pass

Im glad you all got to race and enjoyed yourselves. I don't mind being called out Camaroracing12 that I bitched out, you might as well have put my name in your post. But sometimes ****, one thing or another, doesnt work out for people. I don't have a truck or trailer, and 12 hours in the rain to race, risk breaking something them driving home is scary in a car that hadn't been driven 1 mile. Next year I'll trailer it out.

That being said, can someone post the results?

I understand man at least u made a damn good effort to make it. I applaud you for that. Make it out next year and street stock will be even more close! I have rented a uhaul trailer the past 2 years and towed it with my dad's f-150 4 door 5.4l. I tow 20 hours 1 way to the shootout to boot!

x2

You guys have no idea how much we are sick of hearing "oh man we will be there next year, blah, blah, blah" . A lot of you guys think you have to be number 1 or number 2 just to show up. **** that. You'd be surprised how competitive a regular car can be. Anyone within 400 miles could attend the shootout for under $500 total for the 2 days. No excuses there. I am 665 miles away. My truck used roughly 3.5 tanks of gas at about $350ish, and the hotel was $107 a night which included breakfast. I spent about $150ish on food and beer and t-shirts. My total cost was around $700 or so. If I had to rent a trailer add another $150. I ate like a king each night, filet mignon both nights, and drank and partied. If you live close, then leave sat am and skip Friday night. You'd save a few bucks right there. bufmatmusclepants--you could have brought your car and 15 of us could have took a look under the hood to help you out. The guys with the '68 brought an entire machine shop with them for a full rebuild in the parking lot.

Considering how much fun you have between the heads up racing, the drinking and partying in the parking lot, the hotel bar and pool, the great restaurants, the corvette factory and meausem, the free giveaways and chance to be in a magazine it is by far the best vacation for the $$ even if its 1200 miles away and iyou need to rent a trailer!

Thanks for the pic joel it came out great! And thank youur other half for the cookies they were the highlight of the awards!

Btw im still not home yet lol i had to drop my gf samantha off at college on the way home and help her move in with the trailer and all pulled another all nighter towing home lol no tickets this time tho lol

On top of all that my gf got to be one of the very few to start a brand new corvette for its very first time right on the assembly line. That in itself was worth the trip!

I was at Double Dogs Saturday Night watching Alabama & Michigan. I kept thinking I might see some of you guys, not that I would have recognized any of you.

In those pics in the other thread, where were all of those cars sitting in a group? Was that somewhere around Cross Winds Golf Course, which is right behind Montana Grille. I kept looking for cars on trailers, in hotel parking lots etc., and I never saw anything.

Even though I was on vacation, I got caught up in some work stuff Saturday morning, so I didn't get a chance to come into town until Saturday evening. If I ever get my car in driveable condition, I might bring it down. It would be a light weight in comparison to most of the cars there, I'm sure.

Is the shootout going to be in Bowling Green again next year?
