2012 LTX Shootout

You guys have no idea how much we are sick of hearing "oh man we will be there next year, blah, blah, blah" . A lot of you guys think you have to be number 1 or number 2 just to show up. **** that. You'd be surprised how competitive a regular car can be. Anyone within 400 miles could attend the shootout for under $500 total for the 2 days. No excuses there. I am 665 miles away. My truck used roughly 3.5 tanks of gas at about $350ish, and the hotel was $107 a night which included breakfast. I spent about $150ish on food and beer and t-shirts. My total cost was around $700 or so. If I had to rent a trailer add another $150. I ate like a king each night, filet mignon both nights, and drank and partied. If you live close, then leave sat am and skip Friday night. You'd save a few bucks right there. bufmatmusclepants--you could have brought your car and 15 of us could have took a look under the hood to help you out. The guys with the '68 brought an entire machine shop with them for a full rebuild in the parking lot.

Is that your car Tony? Did you win again? What was the winning time and mph? How many guys showed up for Street Stock?

That is my car. 4 cars showed up. Not sure what my time was on the final pass will need to check the slip but it went a new best at bowling green of 12.636 in 2500' DA. You'd be surprised how much can be had at the tree in our class. My semi finals run agianst casey was closer then the finals with david black all at the tree. Daren had all the slips and showed me after at dinner. During the semi's every single street stock car ran the exact same mph down to the hundreth. Which means we all made the exact same power.
I hope to see you next year man!
