As far as the fastest Bolton guys who frequently post here (me, camaroracing12, lt1 xjs etc) we all shift around 6000-6100. I don't think any of us have hit a dyno but we have all made a lot of track passes. Common knowledge is now that a full bolton lt1 shifting at 6000 rpm with good tires and a good driver WILL run mid to high 12s in under 2000 DA. If you can't run 12s in under 2000 DA with full boltons, your opti is broken.
6000rpms here. stock rockers and valvesprings

we hit peak power around 5800rpms but shifting at 6000rpms nets better gains because it keeps you in the highest power band longer then shifting right at 5800rpms.
alot of people think its idiotic that i have my shift points set so high but they can't seem to understand that logic.

Full bolt on full weight 93 T/A, except headers. With 19" wheels 2.0 60ft 13.48@106.5. Shifting at 5800 shift completed at 6100. Now homported heads, .026 headgaskets, mid tubes, CC503, no stall yet. Best so far...2.05 60ft 12.86@110, shifting at 6000 completed shift at 6375 rpm. I hope this is what u were asking for?

My first camaro was a bolt on LT1 with 2.73 gears and a stock stall. No times, but i used to manually shift it as close to 6000 as i could. However, the car certainly starts to nose dive after 5600 IMO.

My MSD shift light is set to come on at 6000 rpm. I record my runs with a MAC Taskmaster scanner. When i recall my runs the shift points are 3-400 rpm higher than my setpoint. And i know i shift most times Dead Nutz on time! So i can only conclude that the rpm still climbs inbetween the shifts, then gets dragged down on the next gear.

It seemed to work for me. I switched from a S/A 1.6 Promag to the NSA 1.7's adding the guide plates and chromoly pushrods. The power range seemed to creep alittle higher. I do dyno my car after I make changes and have like 6 times. Just the rocker swap netted a 10 rwhp 6 lb ft gain across the board on the same old springs.
