Steam pipe seal washer replacement

Steam pipe seal washer replacement I am replacing the washers on my steam pipe while the engine is still in the car. How tight do these bolts need to be? Both sides feel like everything is pressed together tightly, but, I want to make sure i have these done right the first time so I don't have to do it again. Thanks

Update: Found out why it was leaking. he passenger side bolt hole is stripped out
I just bought this engine and thought i was finally gonna have my Camaro back. Anything I can do to make it work? Can I get away with tapping it while its still in the car?

Looks like my weekend of hard work getting my "new" used engine into the car was a waste. Drivers side steam pipe bolt is totally fubar. Dropping the engine out the bottom tomorrow morning and hopefully putting it back in by tomorrow afternoon.

Remove your oil sending unit before tilting the enging back, then replace it when you've bolted the transmission crossmember back up so that you don't break it against the firewall. Been there...did that.

I feel like dropping the engine and trans is just as easy as dropping the trans. I've had 2 Camaros now and I actually prefer to drop the whole cradle instead of just the trans. Going out to start now. Hopefully I'll be done by lunch time.
