LE2's???

Is anybody running LE2's on a stock bottom end? What kind of cam are you running, what other mods do you have and how much power are you putting down?

1995 T/A Aug 28, 2012 05:41 PM

Yes, I am running your mamas cam with no other mods, and putting down some of its power.

You can spray anything into the 10s nowadays.

Stock shortblock b-body has gone 10.9 NA so like Joe said spraying into the 10s is no big deal.
Hell they have someone running 9s on a stock shortblock with spray.

Not trying to make you change your mind, just offering some perspective on your thoughts that high 10s on the jug is "awesome".

This is besides the fact that asking IF anyone has run LE2s on a stock shortblock is just plain a stupid question about as intelligent as asking if anyone has ever tried putting headers on an LT1. I think the question you wanted to ask is what results have people had with LE2s on a stock shortblock. For that you could go to the sticky at the top of the forum with the fastest LT1s and do an "LE2" filter and see a lot.

I wasnt asking if anyone has ever run LE2's on a stock bottom end. i was looking for the people on here who have run them on a stock bottom end to see the results they got. And who cares if he sprayed into the 10s. 10s are awesome anyway you get there.

What is your 1/4 mile time and mph?

96z28_lt1 Aug 29, 2012 05:38 PM

haven't been to the track yet, i've come into som thigns that need fixing, also getting out of the military and any times i would have is over a mile high sea level, car runs and pulls great though compared to stock, juust letting you know that le2s can run on a stock shortblock and a lot of people have gotten awesome times with them, i know a guy bac home who has hit 11's with just top end done, not sure of his cam though

Show me a 10-second LTX-powered F-body or B-body which doesn't have a lot of time and money behind it to get it there, especially full weight. It still takes some work.

I know people run them on a stock bottom end. By asking that question, i was simply asking the people who are running LE2s on stock bottom end, what setup they have and how much power or what 1/4 mile times they are putting down.

From what I have seen over the years...Stock shortblock with LE2 heads and cam and all supporting mods cars are typically running 400-430rwhp, and mid 11's NA.

^^^ I guess a lot of money is relative? It took some time also if I remember correctly

My build actually only took 6 months. It was a rusted piece of junk in December 2008 sitting outside with no heads/intake and in May 2009 it was running deep 11s.

I had alot of leftover parts from the previous builds so that helped.

There's nothing fancy about my setup. Budget forged crank, budget used forged rods/pistons, off the shelf AI 200cc heads, off the shelf cat-back, etc. Still got the good-old 8 year old AC Delco opti, power steering, full interior, heat, etc.

Granted since then I've invested alot of money into the suspension but the motor (capable of 10s out the gate) remains untouched since then.

I run LE ported LT1 heads with lightweight LS1 valves. See sig below.
