Default new stock LT1 shortblock record

went a 9.44@139 today with a 1.36 60'. 5.99@114 1/8. this pass was actually messed up after i decided to mess around with the progressive and put a delay in it on accident. it had a 1.30 60' the pass before.
the car has 5.80's in it for sure, and im guessing 9.30's@140.

stock shortblock (pistons/rods/crank)
stock heads (ported)
off the shelf comp cam
th400
9" rear
28x10.5 slicks

You are missing some serious information. There's no way you're trapping 139mph on a stock short block, stock ported heads, unless it's in a go-kart.

Would like further details on the set up. How big is the shot, which comp cam, who ported the heads, suspension set up (I'm sure its fully suspended but what exactly do you have), gears, stall size, race weight, etc...

i put a fresh set of oem rings and oem bearings in it before putting it in the car. -which i went out of my way to find.
i am shifting it at a low rpm, and never turns more than 6500ish on the big end.

i also cross my fingers.

Good plan I've sworn for years that it's far safer (and cheaper) to turn a motor slower with spray than to rev it. And you'll go much quicker to boot!
I resized the rod ends before putting my shortblock together; they were .0015" out. I spin 7100 through the traps with good air. BTW, I went just as quick at 150 lbs heavier with a 150 shot on the stock motor, using 4th gear and shifting at 5800
