OP If it was me doing it all over again id first do a full exhaust (see if you can get away with doing long tubes or cats in your area) CAI, Tune. If your an auto do alittle research on a nice stall and swap the rear gears. Leave the engine alone until all the bolt ons are good to go so this way you wont be choking the engine if it was to be cammed.

Threads from this section pop up in new posts, at the top, like every other section of this board. Im not arguing, I gave pretty solid advice to the OP. Usually its the people on this board who get their feelings hurt who start the arguing, especially in here and the ls4 section. I still dont know why, no one with an ls1 gets upset when someone says it makes more sense to swap in lq4/9, ls2, ls3 etc. Would I cam my 200k mile ls1? Hell no. When i get to the point i want a cam Ill take that 1500 and buy a 5.3lm7 or6.0lq4 with it with half the miles and then cam that. My advice was questioned and attacked, I simply gave facts and a little sarcasm to support it.

Again, this is the lt1 section....we like our lt1s....you like your ls1....your logic is flawed and has been pointed out over and over. Just let it go

lol you guys need to take it easy on jrob56's suggestion. You would be better off with the swap in the long run IMO and this is coming from an LT1 guy.
edit: forgot to mention, if you're staying LT1 I'd do what BoostedSol recommended, stall and gears really wake the car up.

You need to look at this from a point of view that you probably dont want to look at it from.
Whats the car worth? Clean title? solid body? solid frame? A modded car with high milage can be a good and a bad thing depending on the mods. But if your starting with a pile of ****, you need to realize that youll never get your money back out of it. Not telling you what to do with your money, just trying to talk some sense.
As far as first mods go, if its completly stock, CAI or ls1 lid mod, headers and catback. Then get a 3000-3600 stall converter, and gears. From there you need a tune.
