car leaking gas and rear end fluid.
So my car is leaking gas from the top of the tank somewere. Also is leaking rear end fluid from the top of the rear end.
How hard is it to drop the gas tank? Also, i was told from the prdvious owner that the vent tube on rear leaked a little bit. It has never leaked that i seen since i had the car but now when i take off from my driveway it leaves a good amount of fluid in the driveway.

You probably have a leaking fuel line. There are quick disconnects on top of the tank which you can reach by cutting an access hole (possibly a good chance the original owner already cut the access hole if the fuel pump has been replaced). Dropping the tank is pretty time-consuming. Plan on removing the exhaust and dropping the rear.
And another thing - STOP DRIVING THE CAR if you are leaking fuel.

You've got a 12 bolt right? It could be the rear cover or the sensor for the 3 channel ABS or plug for said sensor hole if no ABS. I would at least check the level of the lube in the rear to make sure it's not getting low. No surer way to ruin a rear than running it with low gear lube. You'll have to get under there to check it out.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I sure hope he has better sense than to use a sparking cutting tool around a fuel leak....
On a side note, in MY opinion, I would not hesitate to "hack" up my car to put in a fuel pump. A LOT of cars have access holes under the carpet for the fuel pump. It's not something that's going to be seen and in my opinion GM should have put in an access hole. (my guess is they were being cheap ***'s trying to save money)

If you unbolt the shocks at the rear end and let the rear hang as low as it will go the gas tank will indeed slide right out - oh, and it is most likely a quick disconnect fitting gone bad - once you can see the top of the tank it'll be pretty obvious...
Good luck - I did mine (for that very same reason) 2 weeks ago.
If I can do it - anyone can!
