Well I want to hear it with stock manifolds and cats! I don't plan to get headers anyways! So thats why Im curious how loud it will sound with stock everything.

I regretted going with a mild cat-back over a "loud" good sounding one. Wished I just got the slp from the beginning. Settled with the borla catback which basically was a cutout before the muffler. Do the SLP, the only thing that might mildly suck is going to work at 6am. Only complaint I ever got

My most recent set-up was headers with cut outs right on the y pipe, then had a flowmaster 50 series (suv muffler i think) for quiet driving late at night ect. This by far was my favorite, Might want to look into having a shop just weld up a cut out after your y pipe.

Great now I dont know what I want lol. I start heading to work at 6am, would probably wake up all my neighbors XD! Dont they have to modify the slp loudmouth to make it fit on my lt1 =/?

Anyone have experienced with gmmg? Is it worth the $$$$?

What year is your car? I think on 97 & 96 maybe? you don't need that additional piece for the system to work. IIRC the only difference between ls1 cat-backs are hanger locations. Which a shop can easily fix.

I'd just buy the SLP and park your car's *** away from the neighbors.

Catless Flowmasters sound best, in my opinion.

hahaha I don't have that luxury since my parents use the driveway XD. Its a 93. Im guessing still that the shop can figure something on how to install it on my lt1, they should carry hangers of their own for cases like these. Anyways I really want to figure out wether people are really exaggerating of the loudness on the loudmouth 1! I mean Im going to keep stock manifolds and cats.

I guess what I really want is a tamed sound where I don't disturb people driving by early in the morning, but, when I floor it, it sound down right nasty! These lt1s stock are too quiet =(.

I got a dynomax bullet on mine, Part #24222. Took it to the exhaust shop and showed them a picture of the TSP Rumbler catback and told them thats how i wanted it. Costed me about $200 plus the $50 for the muffler. Its pretty loud i gotta admit but i love it, I get compliments all the time. Stock manifolds, stock y pipe but no cats. Screams at wot! haha The idle is pretty loud but its deep, sounds badass. During normal cruising it has a good tone for being how loud it is. If your going to keep your cats, its still going to be pretty loud. Not to bad though.

Couldn't find my LM1 video, but I have a Dynomouth one (LM1 with Dynomax bullet in place of resonator). This is stock manifolds and cats.

That sounds sweet, but wouldn't I have to buy the whole slp catback+dynomax muffler. Or do shops already carry 3 inch stainless steel tubes for a custom make?

Nah i dont..dont got a good camera to record with :/ But i found a video on youtube that has the same muffler, sounds exactly like mine.. but the video still doesn't do justice on how it sounds in person.

And well they built mine from scratch basically, but its not stainless...just the tips are. Most exhaust shops should have stainless piping though.

As stated, it's rediculously loud with headers and no cats. If you're keeping cats on the car it's ok though.

It sounds badass, but I think Ive finally decided that ima go with a magna flow catback and a qtp electric cutout. What do you guys think about this combo? Quiet at cruising and when I open the cutout loud! Best of both worlds right?

This is the GMMG exhaust. It's straight from the original maker (he makes them for the other companies) he even made them for GMMG when they were still in business.

Running a magnaflow here. Great crusing exhaust and manual cut outs for the track. I have several buddies with magnaflow systems and we all love them plus they are stainless systems!
