Re-coating your own headers ?
Re-coating your own headers ? I give up after 2 minutes of googling so. Picked up coated hooker headers used. As expected and told bottom parts are surface rusted pretty good. The tops and anything you'd see from the engine bay look relatively fine still. I was going to take a wire wheel for a drill (not sure which style, A sanding wheel then polishing wheel?) then re-coat them.
What do you/should I use?
I should probably do the whole headers, not the bottoms

I have had jethot and pacesetter headers that were coated. If/WHEN I replace the current headers they will be with stainless headers. It does not matter what you coat them with, it will come off. So, my suggestion is to look into stainless if you don't want to mess with it anymore. Coated headers just isn't worth it in my opinion....
I searched this when I was gonna pick up some hookers LoL thats funny right!!!! 
The coating has to be removed with a caustic solution!! Then recoated with the ceramic! If I remember correctly! Im goin Stainless

Yep as said above Just leave em if your having them redone.
They will be caustic stripped
Aluminum oxide blasted
baked
cleaned
coated
baked
tumble polished.
If you want to attempt to recoat the bottoms that are rusty.
Wire brush all the rust off the best you can.
Get an 4oz bottle of this http://www.nicindustries.com/high_te...e_coatings.php
They have an air cure so you dont have to bake them. Will cure on fire up. should sop from rusting anymore till ya have em redone.

My headers look like **** and this winter I plan to either use the 2000 degree HEADER PAINT from autozone after taking a rust stripping sander wheel bit (the black 1/2 inch thick 4 inch wide circular disk at autozone, Ive used it before on front suspension parts and it worked great) to them. If it still looks like ****, just wrap them. Wet the wrap before you put it on though, and as it dries it will tighten.
I also might try that WD40 Rust Remover Soak product.
