Flowmaster 10 series with inline resonators
Flowmaster 10 series with inline resonators Has anyone experimented with a similar setup before?
I run a 3" True dual exhaust w/ x-pipe out to (2) 10 series flowmasters. It sounds pretty good but a tad too loud for driving around on the street. It draws alot of attention from the local PD in my town. Im wondering if adding two resonators before the axle would help it or at least take the drone out of the flowmasters. Thinking about maybe dynomax bullits.
Before anyone suggests taking an alternative path, ive had several different exhaust combos. One included a 2.5" true dual w/x-pipe that flowed into a dual in/dual out high flow magnaflow muffler. It was nice and quiet but I lost about 50 rwhp and 50 rwtq. I have a 396 w/ a decent sized cam and AFR heads, so i cant compromise on the size of the exhaust or have to much restriction because this combo loves to flow.

I had the same issue on my pickup with LT's, no cats, running through a FM 70 series and 3" single exhaust.
Added a Summit 3" straight-thru resonator just after the muffler, and it took the sharp edge off the sound from the outside and reduced drone inside the cab.
