Default Opti-spark replacement

Just got threw putting a new opti from orielys on my 94 z28, buttoned everything back up and went to start it and it just turned over normal but wont start, just kinda burbles then coughs air outta the intake?

What was wrong in the first place? Did you do any proper diagnosis before throwing parts at the car? Did you check fuel pressure? Did you check for spark out of the coil AND out of the opti BEFORE you replaced the opti (with a no-doubt junk parts-store brand)?

It was having common opti problems like not reving up under load.. I just checked and it's getting fire from the coil, could be a junk opti right out the box? Its raining here and ima have to put it off till tomorrow to check if the opti is firing. Should i have the little box under the coil checked? Payed 250 for that damned distributor, cap and rotor!

It could very well be junk. Gm is the only ones that have the license to get the Mitsubishi optical sensor. All others are cheap knockoffs and not usually quality. You also could have installed it wrong.

Update, well for everybodys lol for the day the only problems were a bad coil wire and I took the batt cable off for ten minutes and runs great! Very easy job, only tip i'd give people is don't finish a job at night half drunk and after a razorback game!! Thanks for the help tho
